Full Job Description

Summit County Continuum of Care is a collaborative nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness through community partnerships, strategic planning, and coordinated services. We are seeking an organized, resourceful Operations Manager to oversee the organization's daily operations and support our mission through strong administrative, financial, and human resource management.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager oversees the organization's administrative, financial, operational, and human resource functions to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and organizational effectiveness. This role partners closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, vendors, and community partners while balancing strategic initiatives with hands-on operational support.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

Oversee daily operations, workflows, documentation, internal controls, operational policies, organizational recordkeeping, and continuous process improvements to support efficient nonprofit operations.

Program & Organizational Support

Provide operational support for programs through scheduling, logistics, outcome tracking, grant reporting, documentation, and implementation of organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.

Financial Administration

Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, financial reporting, monitoring restricted and unrestricted funds, and coordinate with external accounting professionals on payroll, audits, tax filings, and preparation of Form 990 documentation.

Compliance & Risk Management

Maintain compliance with IRS 501(c)(3) requirements, Ohio employment laws, wage and hour regulations, Workers' Compensation, unemployment insurance, employment record retention requirements, OSHA documentation, charitable registrations, and organizational insurance coverage.

Human Resources

Manage onboarding, personnel files, HR compliance, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and proper employee and independent contractor classification.

Vendor, Facilities & Systems

Oversee vendor relationships, facility operations, workplace safety, HRIS, accounting, payroll, and donor management systems while ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and cost-effective process improvements.

Leadership & Board Support

Prepare operational reports for the Executive Director, support Board meetings and governance documentation, and maintain organizational records.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Three to five years of experience in operations, administration, nonprofit management, or a related leadership role.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, QuickBooks or similar accounting software, and HR/payroll systems.

Preferred

Experience working in a small nonprofit organization.
Knowledge of nonprofit financial management, grant administration, and Ohio employment and nonprofit compliance requirements.
