Workday Senior Technology Manager

Raleigh, NC

A large enterprise organization based in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Workday Technology Manager to lead a team of HR technology specialists and own the strategy, delivery, and ongoing optimization of Workday Reporting, Prism Analytics, Integrations, and Extend solutions. This role combines hands-on technical depth with people leadership, requiring someone who can both set direction for the team and engage directly with complex configurations, integrations, and reporting architecture. The position partners closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and Finance, and serves as the primary subject matter expert for Workday technology across the organization.

What You'll Do

As Workday Technology Manager, you will lead the HRIS technology team responsible for all Workday technical workstreams, including reporting and analytics, integrations, and Extend application development. You will set governance standards across these areas, manage demand intake through ServiceNow, and own prioritization and delivery timelines to ensure the team meets quality standards and business commitments. Communicating project status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders will be a regular part of the role.

You will lead the scoping, design, and delivery of Workday Extend solutions when new HR business use cases are identified, and you will support Workday release cycles including impact assessment, testing coordination, and rollout planning. Beyond delivery, you will serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, responding to both planned initiatives and ad hoc requests. Partnering with HR and Payroll on security roles, shared system integrations, and data governance will be an ongoing responsibility.

You will also drive process improvement across HR technology and operations, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies. Keeping current on HR technology trends and the Workday product roadmap is expected, and you will bring that knowledge back to the team to shape how capabilities evolve over time.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
8 or more years of HR Technology technical experience, including hands-on expertise with Workday HCM, HR technology system design, calculated fields, complex configurations, and report and dashboard development
5 or more years of experience implementing, supporting, or operating Workday HCM in an enterprise environment
Demonstrated experience designing, building, and supporting 75 or more Workday integrations, including Orchestrate integrations
Experience designing, building, and maintaining 3 or more Workday Prism Analytics use cases
2 or more years of experience designing custom reports and dashboards using standard Workday reporting tools, including Report Writer and Calculated Fields
Extensive experience creating and maintaining advanced Workday reports, dashboards, scorecards, composite and matrix reports, and Workday Hubs
Strong understanding of enterprise HR systems, data structures, and end-to-end data flows
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills applied to data analysis and reporting
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and complex initiatives while meeting deadlines
Experience communicating project status, risks, and recommendations to senior-level stakeholders

Workday Prism and Reporting Certification
Hands-on technical experience with Workday Extend model components and application development
ERP implementation experience in an enterprise environment
Configuration experience with financial and HR systems
Intermediate proficiency with database tools and concepts
