Architect I

Location: Raleigh, NC
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

A growing architecture and design firm is seeking an Architect I to join its team and contribute to a variety of projects from initial concept through construction. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed architect who enjoys a combination of design, project coordination, technical documentation, and client interaction.

The ideal candidate is creative, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative project team. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with senior leadership, and contribute to projects from concept through completion.

What You'll Do

Participate in projects through all phases of design and construction.
Lead the design and/or project management of small- to medium-sized projects.
Develop accurate architectural drawings, construction documents, specifications, and project presentations.
Research project requirements and develop design layouts, details, and documentation.
Coordinate structural, MEP, and other project consultants.
Conduct building assessments, field verification, site visits, and existing-condition documentation.
Attend and lead project meetings and document meeting minutes and site observations.
Review drawings, reports, estimates, calculations, and consultant deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
Help manage project schedules, budgets, deadlines, and overall deliverables.
Assist with project proposals, interviews, and business development efforts.
Develop renderings, presentations, and other graphic materials to communicate design concepts.
Apply established project standards, checklists, and quality-control procedures throughout the design process.
Support and mentor emerging professionals and architectural staff.
Maintain accurate project information, schedules, time, and invoicing within internal project management systems.
Work closely with project leadership to ensure successful project delivery.

What We're Looking For

Professional Degree in Architecture
Active architectural license required
3+ years of professional architectural experience
Experience working through multiple phases of architectural design and construction.
Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, specifications, and building codes.
Experience with technical drawings and construction documentation.
Strong communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Software Skills

Strong proficiency or experience with:

Revit — strongly preferred
3D modeling and visualization software
Microsoft Office Suite
Adobe Creative Suite
Bluebeam Revu
BIM 360
