Casualty Field Adjuster

Job Summary
Custard’s adjusting team members provide superior work products, positive teamwork and collaboration with integrity and dedication. Our adjusters handle field activities outside the office including investigations, estimates, evaluates, negotiates and reports on property and casualty claims. Field adjusters are required to participate in an on-call rotation to respond in real time to tractor trailer accidents.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute thorough claim investigations, gathering evidence, taking statements, preparing diagrams and taking photographs.
- Analyze, evaluate and estimate special damages including auto estimates, property estimates, personal property inventories, reserves, business interruptions, medical bills, lost wage statements and medical reports.
- Produce a timely, clear and concise adjusting report with findings and recommendation for claim settlement within deadlines.
- Analyze insurance coverage issues on specific claims and make recommendations to the client.
- Negotiate and conclude claims.
- Respond timely to clients, policyholders, and coworkers.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with all parties of the claim process.
- Participate in marketing activities as required.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours.
- Perform any other job-related tasks as assigned by Branch Manager.
Desired Skills and Experience
- College bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
- **Rhode Island Adjuster's license REQUIRED**
- Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Effective time management skills. Ability to work from home and self-manage your claim assignments.
- Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer).
- Business writing skills to professionally communicate with clients, policyholders, and coworkers.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Strong interest to work in outdoor weather conditions, navigating accident scenes, standing, ascend and descend ladders, walking properties and other physical activities related to job description.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
