Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Front Desk Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming attitude will set the tone for exceptional patient experiences. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, managing front desk operations with efficiency and professionalism. Your expertise in medical administrative support, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills will ensure smooth clinic workflows and outstanding patient service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a caring healthcare environment while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, billing, coding, and office management.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and providing excellent customer service throughout their visit
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing
Schedule patient appointments using medical scheduling software such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, coordinating efficiently with clinical staff
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and handling inquiries promptly
Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents, reviewing documentation for completeness, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms
Assist with medical billing processes by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, and performing basic medical collection tasks to support revenue cycle management
Support clinic operations through clerical tasks such as data entry, typing reports (including 10 key typing), filing paperwork, and managing office supplies

Requirements

Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong front desk or receptionist duties
Knowledge of EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office experience is a plus
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times
Ability to perform insurance verification and understand medical billing procedures including CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9)
Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor; bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with health information management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and appointment scheduling
Prior clinic or hospital experience preferred; dental clinic experience is advantageous
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and accuracy
