Full Job Description

Overview

The Lead Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily stormwater maintenance operations by directing field crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements. This position serves as the primary field liaison between crews, management, and client representatives, ensuring work is completed according to schedule, quality standards, and documentation requirements while identifying and reporting corrective maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations

Execute the daily work schedule established by management, ensuring tasks are completed according to priorities and facility ID sequence.
Supervise and coordinate multiple field crews performing stormwater maintenance, including BMP maintenance, debris removal, pavement and alley maintenance, and corrective maintenance activities.
Verify daily crew assignments, equipment, vehicles, tools, materials, PPE, and site access before work begins.
Monitor productivity and address field issues such as weather delays, access restrictions, equipment failures, and operational challenges to minimize disruptions.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company standards, client expectations, and contract specifications, correcting deficiencies as needed.
Enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements to maintain a safe work environment.

Documentation & Asset Management

Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily reports, photographs, field notes, checklists, and work records using GreenDrop, Google Drive, and other required systems.
Track completed work by facility ID and maintain accurate records of completed tasks, outstanding work, and field conditions.
Conduct and submit vehicle, equipment, sweeper, and supply inspections to ensure operational readiness.
Identify and document infrastructure deficiencies requiring corrective maintenance, including drainage issues, erosion, sediment buildup, damaged structures, safety hazards, and access concerns.
Submit corrective maintenance recommendations with supporting documentation, including facility IDs, photographs, descriptions, and priority levels, to the Project Manager or Project Coordinator.

Leadership & Communication

At least 3 to 5 years of experience with leading a field team of 5 or more direct reports.
Train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel on maintenance procedures, equipment operation, documentation requirements, quality standards, and safety practices.
Foster accountability, teamwork, and consistent performance across all field crews.
Monitor the condition of vehicles, equipment, tools, PPE, and field supplies, recommending repairs or replenishment as needed.
Serve as the primary field liaison between National Service Contractors management, DC Water representatives, and field inspectors by communicating project questions or inquire,
Communicate operational issues, crew performance, equipment status, and corrective maintenance needs.
Participate in operations meetings and provide updates on production, schedule status, quality, equipment readiness, corrective maintenance recommendations, and resource needs.

Qualifications

Experience supervising field crews in stormwater maintenance, construction, public works, landscaping, or related infrastructure services.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret work schedules, maps, and facility identification systems.
Experience using mobile field applications and cloud-based documentation platforms such as GreenDrop, Google Drive, or similar software.
Knowledge of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) and maintenance standards.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Fluency in Spanish highly desirable.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
