Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist - III, where your expertise will drive precision and excellence in metal and plastics machining. In this role, you will operate, program, and maintain advanced CNC machinery, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality components. Your mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and proficiency with CNC programming will be essential in ensuring our manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a fast-paced environment dedicated to continuous improvement and quality.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers, ensuring optimal performance.
Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to meet precise specifications.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
Conduct quality inspections utilizing measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and tools, including grinders and power tools, to maintain high standards of operation.
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and blueprints related to plastics injection molding or metal machining projects.
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles for accurate measurement and quality assurance during the manufacturing process.
Utilize electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques when required for intricate or hard-metal components.
Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to lean manufacturing principles while following safety protocols such as forklift operation and welding procedures when necessary.

Skills

Proven experience with CNC programming, including Fanuc controls or similar systems.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or similar for part design review.
Skilled in blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and quality control standards such as GD&T.
Familiarity with CNC G-code programming and editing for efficient machine operation.
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), grinding operations, and tooling setup.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and metal machining techniques.
Mechanical aptitude combined with basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and other shop machinery safely.
