ABOUT US
Your After School is a woman-owned after-school enrichment company serving 20+ school sites across Connecticut and New York. For 15 years we have built flexible, fun, and high-quality programs that inspire kids and support families. Our small, dedicated back-office team is the engine behind everything — and this role sits at the center of it all.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a hands-on Warehouse & Operations Manager who knows how to run a physical operation from the inside out. This is not a desk job or a corporate operations role — it's for someone who is comfortable on the warehouse floor, knows inventory software inside and out, and can build and manage the systems that keep our programs running on time.

You'll oversee our full materials lifecycle: purchasing, receiving, stock management, kit packing, and delivery coordination to 20+ school sites across CT and NY. You'll also directly manage the Curriculum Coordinator and packing/delivery staff — making sure content, materials, and schedules all line up seamlessly.

If you've run a warehouse, managed inventory systems, and led a small team in a fast-paced environment, this role was written for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Warehouse & Inventory Management — This is the core of the role

Own day-to-day warehouse operations: receiving, stock organization, inventory counts, and storage standards
Manage inventory - currently in the process of researching the correct software tools, so we need someone with experience in creation and implementation
Track supply usage across all program sites and proactively reorder before stock runs low
Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of all materials
Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records
Research, implement, and/or improve inventory tracking technology as we scale

Purchasing & Receiving

Build purchasing plans based on enrollment data and current inventory levels
Place and track purchase orders with vendors, balancing cost and timeliness
Receive and verify all deliveries; process new inventory into the system accurately
Manage vendor relationships and resolve supply issues quickly

Packing & Delivery Coordination

Oversee the preparation and packing of class kits for all program sites on schedule
Build and manage delivery routes and schedules for 20+ school locations
Communicate delivery timelines to the back-office team, instructors, and schools
Supervise packing and delivery staff; manage their schedules and quality standards

Curriculum Coordination Oversight

Directly manage the Curriculum Coordinator and curriculum writers, providing operational guidance and support
Ensure curriculum schedules, supply needs, and delivery timelines are aligned
Serve as the operational link between curriculum content and materials fulfillment

Warehouse Relocation Planning

Lead planning and execution of any warehouse relocation projects
Coordinate inventory, equipment, and system transfers with minimal disruption
Oversee setup of new warehouse space for efficiency, safety, and workflow

Ongoing Operations

Collaborate with the Customer Service and Curriculum teams to align inventory with class schedules
Drive continuous improvement of logistics processes for reliability and cost-effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on warehouse or distribution center experience — you've worked the floor, not just managed from a distance
Knowledge of inventory management software
Experience managing direct reports and small teams in a physical work environment
Strong organizational and scheduling skills — you can juggle multiple moving parts without dropping anything
Comfortable building or improving systems, processes, and workflows from scratch
Basic computer skills (Google Workspace, spreadsheets) — tech-savvy enough to learn new tools quickly
Self-starter who can work independently and solve problems on the fly
Excellent communicator — you keep the team informed and on schedule
Able to perform physical activities including standing, walking, and carrying for prolonged periods
Able to lift and carry 25–50 lbs and climb stairs consistently
Comfortable with camera-monitored warehouse surveillance
Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

DETAILS

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours
Location: On-site in Madison, CT, with potential for hybrid flexibility
Pay: hourly based on experience, no health care benefits
