Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Accountant to lead and strengthen core accounting operations and support accurate financial oversight for 3 Entities in Long Beach, Ca. This position plays a central role in financial reporting, payroll coordination, oversight of receivables and payables and financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep multiple processes organized and moving forward together.

Responsibilities: Oversee financial controls and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for all entities.

Oversee the general ledger and related records using cash-based accounting practices, ensuring transactions are properly documented and posted accurately
Prepare recurring financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and supporting general ledger detail for owner review
Manage month-end and year-end close activities by overseeing/completing reconciliations, recording journal entries, and confirming the accuracy of balance sheet accounts
Supervise assistant
Review accounts receivable and accounts payable on a regular basis to help maintain strong financial control
Oversee payroll processing and time-off tracking while helping ensure employee records and related data remain current and accurate
Oversee transactional workflows such as vendor invoicing and vendor receipt processing, vendor bill entry, and weekly payment runs
File or oversee filing of governmentally assessed taxes, licenses and fees including business taxes, sales tax, permit, etc.
Assist with addressing vendor account concerns related to vendor charges and outstanding balances
Coordinate with outside accountants for annual review and filing of tax return
Develop and refine accounting workflows to improve efficiency and consistency
Implement controls and standardized processes across accounting operations
Oversee year-end payroll and other reporting such as 1099 preparation.

Requirements:

· Must be available 8:30am – 5pm

· Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks Desktop

· Ability to multi-task

· At least 5 years Accounting Experience

· Cannabis or Retail Accounting a plus

· Proven experience and understanding of GAAP standards

Pay: $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
