Job Summary

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting pharmacy operations across diverse settings including hospital, community, and LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacies. Your expertise will ensure the accurate preparation, dispensing, and management of medications while maintaining strict compliance with pharmaceutical regulations. This energetic role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to patient care and safety, utilizing your technical skills and passion for healthcare excellence. You will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional service and uphold the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice.

Responsibilities

Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications, following aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures.
Assist in medication inventory management, ensuring proper stock levels and timely reordering in accordance with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
Enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems with precision, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Support patient service efforts by answering medication-related questions, providing basic medication information, and facilitating smooth intake processes.
Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and medical terminology standards during all pharmacy activities.
Perform pharmaceutical calculations for dosage accuracy, medication preparation, and administration procedures in acute care or hospital settings.
Maintain detailed documentation of medication preparation, drug regulation compliance, and inventory records to support regulatory audits and quality assurance initiatives.

Skills

Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in LTC pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or community pharmacy environments with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical calculations and drug regulation.
Critical care experience or hospital experience is highly desirable; familiarity with acute care protocols enhances your effectiveness.
Knowledge of pharmacy software systems for data entry, medication tracking, and inventory management.
Skilled in IV compounding, aseptic technique, sterile IV admixture procedures, and pharmaceutical preparation within regulated environments.
Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate medical terminology clearly to patients and healthcare providers.
Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and pharmacy laws to ensure compliance at all times.
Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with legal standards.
Demonstrated competence in pharmaceutical calculations, medication administration procedures, and medical terminology relevant to pharmacy practice.
