Imaging Department Secretary provides administrative and clerical support to the imaging/radiology department. This role ensures smooth daily operations by handling scheduling, patient records, communication, and other office duties while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
What you will do in this role:
Answers telephone and performs clerical tasks
Enters orders into Medi-tech for all Imaging procedures
Checks and obtains any missing doctors’ orders for all modalities if needed
Secretary has necessary paperwork filled out by patient
Enters patients home medications for Medication Reconciliation process
Coordinates with Registration and Scheduling regarding patient orders and appointments
Pulls the failed fax log daily and faxes any reports that failed
Faxes reports to physicians not on auto-fax, as well as Disability Services
Takes physician reports to medical records as needed
Checks fax machine routinely for incoming orders or film requests
Burns CDs for patients and obtains release form for records
Prepares waiting room daily, ensuring it is neat, and lights and TV are on
Wipes down chairs and tables to help reduce the spread of infections
Contacts physicians for Radiologist or technologist regarding patient studies performed
Mails CDs via FedEx or regular mail when requested by release form
What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma/GED required
Prior office or front desk experience is preferred
