The Opportunity
We are seeking a Scenic Artist / Fabricator o join our production team. In this role, you will help fabricate, sculpt, texture, and finish themed environments, scenic elements, dimensional signage, and custom displays for a wide variety of projects.
Your time will be spent in our production facility, collaborating with skilled craftspeople to produce high-quality work, with occasional opportunities to support on-site installations and field work.

What You’ll Do
- Sculpt, carve, fabricate, and assemble scenic elements using a variety of materials.
- Apply scenic finishes including painting, staining, distressing, faux finishes, texturing, and specialty coatings.
- Prepare surfaces for finishing through sanding, filling, priming, and other finishing techniques.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, design renderings, and construction documents.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, spray equipment, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work with foam, wood, plastics, fiberglass, epoxies, coatings, and other scenic materials.
- Communicate project progress and material needs with the Production Operations Manager.
- Support shop and field installations as project schedules require.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Help identify production challenges and work collaboratively to solve them.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone with professional experience in scenic painting, scenic fabrication, sculpture, themed entertainment, exhibit fabrication, prop building, fine arts, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of experience and skill will also be considered.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Scenic painting and decorative finishing techniques.
- Faux finishes, distressing, aging, wood graining, and specialty paint applications.
- Sculpting, carving, and texturing a variety of scenic materials.
- Preparing surfaces for high-quality paint and scenic finishes.
- Working with foam, wood, fiberglass, plastics, coatings, epoxies, and similar fabrication materials.
- Reading and interpreting shop drawings, renderings, and construction documents.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, spray equipment, and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with CAD-based workflows; experience with Shapr3D, Fusion 360, or similar 3D modeling software.
- Working independently while contributing to a collaborative production team.
