Full Job Description

Position Summary

Child Care Center is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the children, families, and staff at our early childhood education centers. This position plays an essential role in ensuring our classrooms and common areas consistently meet the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

This position is scheduled for 3–5 days per week, up to 4 hours per day, with hours typically taking place after the majority of children have left for the day (around 6:00pm).

Responsibilities

The Part-Time Custodian is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the facility, including but not limited to:

Vacuuming carpets and rugs
Sweeping and mopping all floors
Deep cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms
Deep cleaning kitchen and food preparation areas
Cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
Cleaning interior and exterior glass doors, entryways, and windows as assigned
Wiping down doors, door frames, trim, and baseboards
Emptying trash and recycling throughout the building
Replacing trash liners
Dusting furniture, shelves, vents, and other surfaces
Spot cleaning walls and removing scuff marks
Cleaning and organizing storage areas as assigned
Restocking paper products, soap, and cleaning supplies
Reporting maintenance concerns or safety hazards to management
Assisting with seasonal deep-cleaning projects and special cleaning assignments
Following all company safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment

Qualifications Required

Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

Previous custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience
Experience cleaning schools, child care centers, medical offices, or commercial buildings
Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization procedures
