A&W Mechanical and Fabrication, Inc. has been serving the heavy industrial industry since 1994. We provide quality services in boiler and code vessel repair, tank fabrication, structural steel fabrication, sheet metal fabrication, water jet services, millwright work, safety component fabrication, on-site fabrication, and precision CNC machining.
We also provide field services to industrial customers throughout the area, including installation, repairs, maintenance, and emergency on-site service.
We are a family-owned and operated company looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable, experienced Welder/Fabricator with a strong mechanical background who is comfortable working in both shop and industrial field environments.
This position includes welding, fitting, fabrication, equipment installation and repair, and other industrial maintenance work. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as part of a crew and be willing to perform a variety of tasks based on the needs of each job.
Work may be performed at our fabrication shop as well as at various customer locations.
Job Type: Full-time, 40+ hours per week
Typical Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shift. OT on weekends when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous welding and fabrication experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to fit, fabricate, and weld carbon steel and other materials as required
- Ability to read and understand drawings, measurements, and fabrication layouts
- Experience with industrial maintenance, millwright work, pipefitting, or mechanical construction is a plus
- Ability to safely operate common welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and adapt to changing job requirements
- Dependable with an excellent attendance record
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in industrial environments
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
Mandatory: Must have a valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Perform welding, fitting, fabrication, repair, and installation work
- Measure, cut, fit, weld, grind, and assemble fabricated components
- Perform industrial maintenance and mechanical work at customer facilities
- Read and work from drawings, sketches, measurements, and job specifications
- Safely operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, hand tools, and other fabrication equipment
- Assist with equipment installation, repairs, shutdown work, and field service projects
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas
- Follow all company and customer safety policies and procedures
- Work professionally and respectfully with coworkers, supervisors, and customers
- Perform other fabrication, welding, and industrial maintenance duties as needed
