Come join our team! As a Program Coordinator with Georgia’s First Steps program, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. Under broad supervision, coordinates outreach, enrollment, and educational activities to support program objectives. Works with clients, community partners, and stakeholders to provide information, conduct screenings, and facilitate access to services. Utilizes computer systems to maintain records, enter data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with program requirements. Collaborates with internal and external partners and participates in training, meetings, and community engagement activities to support program goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Utilize various computer programs to enter data, maintain records, and prepare reports.
Promote First Steps Georgia and complete participant enrollments at community events, North Central Health District Health Departments, and partner organizations throughout District 5-2.
Attend and actively participate in First Steps Georgia, University of Georgia, and Nurse-Family Partnership trainings, meetings, and site visits as assigned.
Collaborate with other First Steps Georgia sites and Georgia Department of Public Health programs to support program goals and service delivery.
Ensure compliance with all First Steps Georgia program requirements related to participant enrollment, documentation, and reporting.
Prepare and assemble informational and educational materials for First Steps Georgia outreach and enrollment activities.
Conduct participant screenings and surveys with prospective clients by phone and in person.
Deliver presentations and participate in public outreach activities to promote First Steps Georgia and increase community awareness.
Perform additional duties as assigned.Responsibilities and essential functions may change to meet organizational needs
This position requires travel throughout the North Central Health District to distribute First Steps promotional and educational materials to community organizations, businesses, and partner agencies. Candidates for this role must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Employees in this role are eligible to receive mileage compensation for work-related travel. This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with communities across the district and make a meaningful impact.

The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.
