Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and positive patient experiences. Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming clinic atmosphere
Schedule appointments efficiently using our electronic health record (EHR) ModMed.
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing
Collect payments and perform medical collections in accordance with HIPAA regulations and billing protocols
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating demographic information and collecting necessary documentation
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages
Maintain accurate medical records by filing, scanning, and organizing paper and electronic documents
Support front desk operations by managing appointment reminders, patient intake forms, and follow-up communications
Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines by safeguarding patient health information during all interactions
Perform clerical duties including data entry, typing reports, filing records, and maintaining office supplies
Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient care schedules and facilitate smooth clinic workflows

Experience

Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role within a clinic or hospital setting
Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Experience with insurance verification processes
Demonstrated ability to handle medical collections professionally while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
Prior clinic experience is highly valued for understanding clinical workflows
Exceptional customer service skills paired with strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities efficiently

Requirements

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to commute to our Howland and Brookfield office throughout the week.
