Full Job Description

This is not a typical Body Shop role.

If you’re someone who takes pride in doing things the right way from the very beginning of a repair, this is the kind of opportunity you’ve probably been looking for.

We are a high-volume, well-established Collision Center in Metro Detroit looking for a Repair Planning Manager who can own the front end of the repair process and turn it into a competitive advantage.

This role is about more than writing estimates. It’s about building complete, accurate repair plans that eliminate chaos downstream, improve cycle time, and deliver a better experience for both the customer and the production team.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Owning the Repair Plan

Lead the full blueprinting process for every incoming vehicle
Ensure damage is fully identified, documented, and accounted for upfront
Reduce supplements by getting it right the first time
Partner closely with technicians and parts to validate repair methods and timing

Driving Production Flow

Create consistency from intake through production
Monitor and improve key metrics like cycle time, touch time, and estimate accuracy
Identify bottlenecks and fix them before they become problems
Keep the shop moving at a high level without sacrificing quality

Leading the Team

Coach and develop blueprinting and support staff
Set clear expectations and hold a high standard of accountability
Help build a culture where quality and teamwork actually mean something

Protecting Quality & Safety

Ensure every repair plan aligns with OEM procedures and safety standards
Perform quality checks before repairs begin
Support final quality control when needed

Coordinating Parts & Partners

Work closely with parts to ensure accuracy and availability
Communicate effectively with insurance partners when needed
Keep everything aligned so repairs don’t stall mid-process

What We’re Looking For

5+ years in collision repair, with leadership or advanced estimating/blueprinting experience
Strong knowledge of CCC and OEM repair procedures
Experience in a high-volume environment where efficiency matters
Someone who notices what others miss and fixes it before it becomes a problem
I-CAR certifications (Platinum is a plus)
