Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Communications and Public Relations Manager to lead communications initiatives that elevate the company's brand, strengthen relationships, and support business growth. This role serves as a key advisor to leadership, the voice of the organization, and a leader in shaping internal communications, public relations, media engagement, crisis response, and stakeholder relationships.

Job Description

Lead the development and execution of the company's internal and external communications strategy to advance business objectives and strengthen the organization's reputation.
Serve as the company's primary spokesperson, leading media relations and representing the organization in public, media, and crisis communications.
Partner closely with executive leadership to provide strategic communications counsel, shape key messaging, and support high-impact business initiatives.
Lead crisis communications planning and response, providing strategic guidance, developing messaging, and serving as the company's communications lead during critical situations to protect and strengthen the organization's reputation.
Develop executive communications, speeches, press releases, newsletters, presentations, and other content that engages employees, stakeholders, and the public.
Build and strengthen relationships with media, customers, municipalities, government officials, community partners, and other key stakeholders.
Lead public affairs and support communications with investors, elected officials, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Drive initiatives that enhance brand awareness, employee engagement, community relations, and stakeholder confidence.
Oversee branding, public relations, social media, photography, digital communications, and other communication channels to ensure a consistent and compelling company voice.
Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and public sentiment, providing proactive recommendations to protect and enhance the company's reputation.
Develop communication processes and best practices that improve collaboration, consistency, and organizational effectiveness.
Lead, mentor, and grow the communications team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or a related field preferred.
Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, public affairs, or a related field.
Experience serving as a spokesperson, managing media relations, and supporting crisis communications.
Demonstrated success developing communication strategies and advising organizational leadership.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience building relationships with media, customers, government officials, and community stakeholders.
Experience leading projects and mentoring or supervising others is preferred.
Familiarity with regulated industries, transportation, environmental services, or public sector organizations is a plus.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
