Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary personnel to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring their comfort, health, and well-being. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where residents feel cared for and valued. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents while working in a supportive and energetic setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare, assemble, and serve meals that adhere to specific dietary requirements and nutritional guidelines.
Assist with food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and safety regulations.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, following proper handling procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including cleaning utensils, surfaces, and food preparation zones.
Support dietary department operations by bussing tables, restocking supplies, and managing food handling tasks.
Work closely with nursing staff to accommodate special diets for residents with medical or dietary restrictions.
Follow workplace safety protocols consistently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices for heavy items.

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry with a focus on food preparation or dietary services.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) guidelines.
Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality service.
Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and dishwashers.
Excellent manual handling skills with an understanding of safe lifting practices for heavy objects.
Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with special dietary needs is highly desirable.
Basic math skills for portion control and meal planning calculations.
Exceptional customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents’ needs.
Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to dietetics and meal planning for diverse populations.
CPR certification is preferred to ensure safety during emergency situations.
