The Missouri Veterans Home needs a Food Service Manager to supervise our dietary department. We are a moderate sized long term care facility where you will coordinate with a licensed dietician consultant for menu planning, sanitation practices and overall food service quality. Pay: $48,547.44
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Examples of Work:
- Provide oversight of the dietary department to ensure the proper Veteran nutritional needs and preferences are met in a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Ensure quality and quantity of food, menu planning and budget compliance are completed appropriately, accurately, and timely.
- Inspect all work, storage, and serving areas frequently to determine that regulations governing dietetic activities are followed.
- Recommend and/or institute changes in Dietary Services policy/procedures to achieve optimum operation of the dietary department.
- Maintain appropriate and timely documentation in Veteran medical records and participate in Veteran care planning.
- Direct cost control systems to ensure budget compliance.
- Oversee the supervision, recruitment, retention, performance management, discipline, feedback, scheduling, and training of assigned staff.
- Coordinate with Licensed Dietitian Consultant on menu planning and resident clinical dietary assessments and consultations.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Qualifications:
- Preferred Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or must obtain CDM within 6 months of hire
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of and experience in management of food preparation and service operations
