About the Position
Gemini Tech Services, LLC is seeking a Personal Computer Support Technician (PCST) to provide on-site information technology and end-user computer support for a professional services environment.
This is a civilian contractor position supporting day-to-day computer operations, user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, account administration, network connectivity, and related information technology services.
The successful candidate will provide responsive technical assistance to end users, configure and maintain computers and peripheral equipment, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, and assist with the administration of user accounts and network-connected systems.
This position is classified within the Personal Computer Support Technician (PCST) labor category and is well suited for an experienced IT professional with strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesComputer and User Support
- Provide first-level technical support to employees and end users.
- Diagnose and resolve routine hardware, software, peripheral, and connectivity problems.
- Configure and deploy desktop and laptop computers for new and existing users.
- Install, configure, and update approved hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot printers, monitors, peripherals, and other computer equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of assigned computer equipment and peripherals.
- Identify recurring technical problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Escalate complex hardware, software, network, or connectivity issues to the appropriate technical support organization.
Network and Account Support
- Assist with basic administration and support of network-connected computers.
- Create, modify, and maintain user accounts in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist users with password and account-access issues.
- Support network and email connectivity.
- Assist with workstation configuration and network connectivity troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with network and systems administrators when problems require higher-level technical support.
System Administration and Maintenance
- Perform routine workstation maintenance and system checks.
- Monitor computer equipment for operational problems.
- Install approved operating-system and software updates.
- Assist with software troubleshooting and configuration.
- Identify and report potential security, malware, or virus-related issues.
- Follow established procedures for protecting systems, equipment, and user information.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of technical issues, repairs, and corrective actions.
Training and Customer Service
- Provide informal technical training and assistance to end users.
- Explain technical issues and solutions in clear, easy-to-understand language.
- Assist users with software, hardware, and basic networking questions.
- Provide professional, courteous, and timely customer service.
- Develop and maintain user-support documentation and procedures as needed.
Technical and Administrative Support
- Process and track technical support requests.
- Perform basic system and database troubleshooting and analysis.
- Assist with routine data and system reports.
- Research technical problems and identify appropriate solutions.
- Support technology upgrades, equipment replacements, and system modernization initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to assigned technical responsibilities.
- Perform other related IT support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training in information technology, computer systems, networking, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience providing computer or IT support.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology services or a related technical support environment.
- Familiarity with computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple technical support requests.
- Ability to document technical issues and follow established procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar technical certification.
- Experience supporting Windows-based computer environments.
- Experience with user account administration.
- Experience troubleshooting network connectivity.
- Experience supporting printers and other computer peripherals.
- Experience working with help-desk or service-management ticketing systems.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.

Physical and Work Environment
This position primarily involves working in an office and computer-support environment.
The employee may be required to:

- Occasionally bend, kneel, reach, or work under desks and workstations when installing or troubleshooting equipment.
