Full Job Description

Description

As a student worker in the Office of Human Resources, you will gain real-world experience assisting the HR team and colleagues across campus. In this position, you will assist with office duties in Human Resources such as:

Greet office guests
Answer office phones
Process confidential paperwork
Additional office responsibilities as assigned.

This position will begin in April. The chosen applicant will be expected to sign a confidentiality agreement due to the sensitive nature of the material they may handle. Students must be able to commit to working 20 hours a week while classes are in session and have the ability to work up to 40 hours a week when classes are not in session.

Examples of Duties

This position will assist the HR personnel with items including, but not limited to:

Assisting all new employees with their new hire paperwork, including remote I-9 sessions.
Data entry into UCM’s HRIS system.
Serving as a customer service rep that will greet and assist in person and telephone customers.
Completing verifications of employment both over the phone and on paper.
Assisting Senior Strategic HR Partners with tasks.
Scanning forms.
Filing, Indexing, and Shredding
Work during the summer as well as the school year.
Professional appearance

Typical Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Customer service experience preferred
Reliability is a must
Punctuality
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Supplemental Information

Working Hours and Days:

M-F, up to 20 hours per week,
up to 40 hours over breaks

This position requires a cover letter.

Special Instructions:

Full-time staff & 12-month faculty benefits-eligible position: Benefits include competitive salary; health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes at UCM.

Part-time benefits-eligible positions: Benefits include generous education assistance for the employee.

Temporary, adjunct, student employment, or graduate assistant positions: Benefits are not included.
