Job Overview
Hampton Manor of Wentzville is seeking a dedicated and dependable Cook to join our compassionate, purpose‑driven team. The Cook plays a key role in supporting the nutritional well‑being of residents by preparing high‑quality meals in accordance with menus, dietary needs, and food safety standards. This position contributes directly to a positive dining experience and helps create a warm, welcoming community for residents, families, and team members.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare meals according to the established menu, recipes, and dietary requirements, including texture‑modified diets
Ensure all food is cooked, stored, labeled, and served in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, including equipment, work areas, and storage spaces
Follow proper food handling procedures, temperature controls, and infection control practices
Assist with inventory management, including receiving, rotating, and storing food and supplies
Minimize waste by using leftovers appropriately and following portion control guidelines
Coordinate with the Dining Services Manager and care staff to support resident needs and preferences
Provide courteous and respectful service during meal times and interact positively with residents
Report equipment issues, supply needs, or safety concerns promptly
Document required information accurately and follow all facility policies and procedures
Participate in required training, in‑services, and ongoing education
Support emergency and safety procedures as required

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Cook in senior living, healthcare, or a commercial kitchen preferred
Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices
Ability to follow menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines, including texture‑modified diets
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive, professional attitude
Ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and team members
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed
Willingness to complete required training and ongoing education
Must pass background screening requirements in accordance with Missouri DHSS regulations
