Email Marketing Systems Engineer

Position Overview

Salary based on experience

Milestone Marketing Solutions is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer with experience working in application backends for our email marketing program. This role will focus on learning and understanding our existing email marketing system and processes, then work to establish a redundant email marketing system. The best candidate brings both experience in process automation and a passion problem solving. This position will play a significant role planning and growing Milestone’s digital marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

· Propose and implement platform improvements, roadmap enhancements, and architectural upgrades for long‑term system health

· Lead the designing and implementation of a redundant, self-managed marketing automation system

· Maintain and optimize backend systems supporting Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including SSJS modules, automations, and integrations

· Build and manage automated data pipelines between local databases and SFMC for marketing, configuration, and tracking data

· Configure and manage DNS and email infrastructure settings such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to ensure reliable email delivery

· Collaborate with Data Engineering and provide technical support to internal marketing stakeholders as needed

Qualifications

· Minimum of 3 years experience in IT or a related field

· Proven ability to build and maintain applications or systems

· Proficient in scripting automation with programming languages (JavaScript, Python, etc.)

· Solid understanding DNS configuration (DKIM, SPF, DMARC)

· Comfortable learning new competencies and technologies

Bonus Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field

· Experience using marketing automation tools, preferably Salesforce Marketing Cloud

· Familiarity with relational databases and SQL, preferably MS SQL Server

· Experience contributing to system architecture and platform improvement decisions

· Experience working with Atlassian products, Jira, Bitbucket, etc.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
