JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Residential Manager

Exempt, Full Time

REPORTS TO: Director of Client Services

Salary: $53,000 - $55,000, depending on experience

BASIC FUNCTION: The Residential Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the residential program, ensuring compliance with established policy and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills with experience working with individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence, they will be empathetic in nature with a methodical attention to detail and strong supervisory skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for managing and overseeing day-to-day operations of the residential program, including a safe home shelter, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing programs.

· Responsible for managing and overseeing all staff, programs, and services provided. This includes managing and supervising all components of screening, intake, stay experience, facility operations, maintenance, case management, and working collaboratively with other teams/staff on wrap around care

· Responsible for following policies and procedures pertaining to home cleanliness, food safety, in kind donations, and storage area organization.

· Supervision of residential staff, including support toward personal and professional goals.

· In collaboration with the Facilities Manager, adhere to policies and procedures regarding the safe operation of all facilities to ensure safety and security for all residents.

· Training and evaluation of residential team members

· Screening of potential residents for safe home, transitional and permanent supportive programs.

· In collaboration with Case Managers/Residential Advocates, coordinate children’s services and make referrals as necessary, which may include but are not limited to enrollment in the local school system, recreational and enrichment activities, childcare and mental health programs.

· Oversee the development of individual guest plans.

· Orient residents to the program. Support them in following the shelter rules & procedures to create an environment of trust and community

· Provide residents with the support & assistance they need including emotional support, education on domestic violence and in adjusting to their new environment

· Develop new programs as needed.

· Maintain/provide statistical and written reports as required.

· Provide on-call emergency coverage

· Perform other duties as required

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

DV Training; CPR, blood borne pathogens, and first aid certification; Mental Health First Aid; within 3 months of employment. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition’s

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or a related field or equivalent work experience.

· A minimum three years’ experience in human social services

· Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

· Strong supervisory skills

· Strong organizational skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Familiarity with safety protocols and adherence to policy and procedure for operational excellence.

· Familiarity with domestic violence issues

· Computer literacy (Word, Excel, and general Internet skills)

· Familiarity working with individuals from diverse backgrounds

· A demonstrated familiarity with mental health, and/or substance abuse populations

· Comfort working individually and as a member of a team

· Innovative thinking to approaching issues of poverty and service delivery

· Familiarity with social service services in Rhode Island

· Applicant must pass a background check

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, and provide on call coverage on a regular basis
