Full Job Description

Lorac is a Providence-based precision manufacturer specializing in military insignia — the medals, badges, and devices worn by U.S. service members. Our toolroom builds the dies and fixtures that produce parts measured in thousandths of an inch, every day. Small shop, steady work, no two days the same.

The Role

We're hiring an experienced Toolmaker to build and maintain the stamping tooling that drives our production floor. You'll work from prints, run a Sodick wire EDM, laser CNC and own tools from build through troubleshooting on the press.

What you'll do

Build progressive and single operation tooling from engineering drawings and existing parts
Program and operate Sodick wire EDM equipment for die details and inserts
Set up and run mills, lathes, surface grinders as needed for die work
Troubleshoot dies on the stamping press and make corrections in the toolroom
Maintain and repair existing tooling to keep production running
Work directly with management on new product tooling

You need

3+ years as a toolmaker in a production stamping environment
3+ years programming and operating wire EDM (Sodick a strong plus)
Comfortable reading prints and holding tight tolerances
Solid shop math — geometry and trig
Able to work independently and own a job from start to finish
Familiarity with heat treating tool steels

Nice to have

Formal toolmaking apprenticeship
CAD/CAM experience
Background in small, intricate stamped parts

Schedule & pay

Full-time, in-person at our Providence shop
Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM
$30–$40/hour based on experience
Overtime available
