Full Job Description

Banquet Chef Job Summary

Our event center is seeking a Banquet Chef to join our team. We host, at times, a high volume of events, so we prefer applicants who have professional experience as well as an educational background in culinary arts. Your primary tasks in this role are to oversee the kitchen, and to serve and prepare menu items while upholding portioning and plating standards. You will also assist with menu development and community outreach, ensuring our kitchen is sufficiently staffed and stocked. You must enforce a high standard of quality at all times during food preparation and service, as well as equipment and kitchen cleanliness.

Banquet Chef Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with menu development & community outreach
Train and oversee kitchen staff on how to prepare menu items, as needed
Uphold plating and portioning standards
Plan for event food needs
Order ingredients and maintain kitchen inventory
Enforce proper SSOP (sanitation standard operating procedures)
Set up and break down catering stations and buffet displays
Provide professional and friendly customer service to guests and clients
Work alongside kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure smooth event execution

Banquet Chef Requirements and Qualifications

Degree in culinary arts strongly preferred
Catering experience a plus
Food handler card or certificate is preferred
Communication skills
Organizational and time management skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods
Ability to be flexible with kitchen needs as they come up
Ability to be flexible with your schedule, as it pertains to our kitchen needs

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
