Full Job Description

Job Overview

Join a mission-driven primary care organization in Washington, DC as a Family Nurse Practitioner — earning $125,000–$145,000 base salary, practicing with full practice authority from day one under DC's full scope of practice licensure, and delivering whole-family primary care to patients who have historically had almost no reliable access to a provider who knows them. Spanish language skills are strongly preferred, making this an exceptional fit for bilingual FNPs whose clinical skills and cultural competency work together to build the trust this community needs.

This is a pure clinical role — no administrative or leadership requirement — splitting time across two clinic sites inside renovated apartments in DC public housing, with a supported on-site team including medical assistants, a nursing lead, an operations lead, and a lead NP available as a clinical resource.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive primary care across the lifespan at two assigned clinic sites
Provide well child care, immunizations, physicals, and preventive screenings
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions with emphasis on chronic disease management
Manage patients with multiple chronic conditions alongside significant social needs
Prescribe and manage medications including controlled substances
Order and interpret on-site labs and point-of-care testing
Coordinate referrals with specialists, hospitals, and community organizations
Provide health education and counseling with attention to health literacy
Document care accurately in the EHR
Participate occasionally in community outreach events at your clinic site

Requirements

Active, unrestricted Washington, DC NP license required (or ability to obtain before start)
FNP certification through ANCC or AANP required — FNP required due to pediatric patients on the panel; adult-gerontology certification does not meet this requirement
Active DEA registration required
MSN, DNP, or equivalent advanced nursing degree required
1–3 years of clinical NP experience required
Demonstrated chronic disease management experience required
Experience with or clear interest in Medicaid and underserved populations required
Comfortable seeing pediatric patients including well child visits, vaccines, and physicals
Proficiency with EHR systems required

Preferred

Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred
Prior community health, FQHC, or public health experience
Recent pediatric exposure — clinical training sufficient
Familiarity with Medicaid managed care or value-based care arrangements

Compensation & Benefits

$125,000–$145,000 annual base salary (commensurate with experience)
ICHRA — $300/month reimbursement toward individual health plan
PTO up to two weeks accrued plus seven paid holidays
Paid sick leave accruing from day one
CEU allowance up to $500/year
Malpractice and liability coverage provided
