Full Job Description

JOB TITLE: MARKETING SPECIALIST / COMMUNITY LIAISON

REPORT TO: EXECUTIVE CLINICAL DIRECTOR

I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The primary purpose of this job is for the development and management of Stoddard’s overall marketing and external education activities. Specifically, this employee is responsible for designing, creating, and delivering marketing programs to support expansion and growth of the Stoddard Baptist Home entities. The role requires creating presentations and providing reports on the entities’ products, market trends, and competition in an effort to improve referral relations. This employee must be familiar with Stoddard’s field of practices, concepts, and procedures.

II. JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Promote a positive image of Stoddard entities through effective planning of programs, educational presentations, community events, and other opportunities to promote Stoddard facilities.

2. Develop and implement referral relations programs with hospital discharge planners and case managers, physicians, and managed care organizations.

3. Utilize sales techniques such as cold calling and contact planning.

4. Coordinate the creation and dissemination of education materials such as brochures and other materials deemed necessary for marketing Stoddard entities.

5. Assist management with the development of advertising materials and communication media to effectively symbolize the services and products of Stoddard to customers.

6. Participate in developing marketing materials such as video scripts and advertising layouts and presenting to manager for approval and review.

7. Manage layouts and design communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, research papers, and brochures.

8. Conduct and plan market research activities to include surveys, analysis of syndicated materials, focus groups, conjoint analysis situational modeling, and recommends proactive plans based on data analysis.

9. Increase the growth of market share by utilizing techniques such as cold calling and contact planning, monitoring activities through call logs.

10. Ensures data that is entered into the Common Working File is accurate with focus on the resident’s face sheets.

11. Submits all required monthly Admissions Department reports to vendors and the Executive Clinical Director, as required.

12. Approves or carries out all tours/visits to Stoddard entities to increase education level of guests.

13. Support cross-functional team by pricing direction, new product launch strategies and product positioning.

14. Promote trade shows, events as well as advertising campaigns.

15. Initiate and approve all requests for exhibiting at conferences or events as well as in-service/presentations to the community to ensure appropriateness of out-reach activity.

16. Assist with identification of the need for the development of new programs.

17. Coordinate with Admissions team to promote positive communication needs.

18. Periodically accompanies the assessment nurse/clinical liaison in the field.

19. Review marketing projects that are assigned, previous marketing materials, which are used in assignment area and gather materials about competitive companies.

20. Arrange necessary aids for speaking and attending presentations and giving feedbacks to the speaker.

21. Develop and coordinate multimedia packages like brochures, letters, purchase displays, video and so on for specific assignments.

22. Develop direct programs related to mails and monitoring rolls of the campaign and ensure success levels at conclusion.

X. EDUCATION:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Journalism or Communications, or related experience.

2. Bachelor’s Degree in area of specialization relevant field.

3. Graduates interested in Journalism

XI. EXPERIENCE:

1. Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position in a hospital or long term care facility.

1. Excellent analytical and presentation skills including demonstration skills to handle many assignments simultaneously.

2. Efficiently work under pressures, deadlines, and stretch extra hours to complete assigned task.

3. Should exhibit great creativity and resourcefulness.

4. Able to take calculated and bold initiatives to meet the expectations of clients effectively.

5. Should have excellent effective communication skills.

6. Should be able to communicate the insight and ideas effectively.

7. Should have equally effective people skills to deal with clients.

8. Self-confident and outgoing personality.

9. Should be an expert in forwarding thinking, market research, and should possess problem-solving skills.

10. Ability to listen to intended details attentively.

11. Must be supportive of team.

12. Must be flexible and responsible for assignment.

13. Willing to travel extensively.

14. Working knowledge of communications using social media.

X. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

2. Ability to interact with residents, family members, staff and visitors in a professional, compassionate and diplomatic manner.

3. Minimal knowledge of health care system, Medicare, Medicaid, Discharge Planning, available community resources and long-term care regulations.

4. Knowledge of family and group dynamics.

5. Ability to display a sense of empathy and attentiveness.

XI. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day, travel to hospitals and other health care facilities extensively.

2. Must be able to speak and document the English language in an understandable manner.

3. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

4. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately so the requirements of the position can be fully met.

5. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and staff in hospitals/other health care facilities in the community.

6. Must be in good health and demonstrate emotional stability.

7. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facilities.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year
