Junior Camera Assistant

Position Summary
TAG is seeking a Junior Camera Assistant to join our production team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in commercial cinematography and camera operations.
Based in Washington, DC, you'll travel nationwide supporting commercial, branded, documentary, lifestyle, and political productions while learning alongside experienced Directors of Photography, Camera Operators, and production professionals.
This is a hands-on role that requires frequent travel, standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and safely carrying equipment cases and production gear weighing up to 50 pounds.

TAG: The Artist Group is a boutique creative agency producing commercial, branded, lifestyle, and political content for leading brands, organizations, and campaigns across the country. TAG also owns and operates DC Film Gear, the region's premier boutique cinema camera and lens rental house.
Our Washington, DC office and studio serve as our production headquarters and equipment warehouse, supporting projects from pre-production through final delivery. Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong interest in commercial cinematography, filmmaking, and camera department work
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, proactive, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in fast-paced production environments
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and transport production equipment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Ability and willingness to travel outside of Washington, DC for productions
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended production days as needed
- Valid driver's license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of professional cinema cameras and production workflows
- Familiarity with professional cinema camera systems and on-set camera workflows is a plus
- Previous experience as a Production Assistant, Camera PA, Camera Assistant, rental house technician, or film school production crew is a plus
- Experience preparing, organizing, or maintaining professional production equipment
- Comfortable driving cargo vans or production vehicles

Schedule & Travel Expectations
General office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Production schedules vary, and this position requires flexibility to work outside regular office hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and extended production days.
Travel is a core responsibility of this role. Frequent domestic travel—including overnight and multi-day productions—is expected throughout the year. Candidates should be excited about working on location and comfortable adapting to changing production schedules.
