Full Job Description

Job Title: Site Director, Campagna Kids

Position Summary

The Site Director is responsible for the supervision and day-to-day management of Campagna Center’s before/after school, camps, and enrichment programs located in school partner sites. The Director will manage program site(s) in accordance with the regulations developed by the VA Dept. of Education and the Council on Accreditation Quality Standards. The Site Director works with the Director of Operations to implement and evaluate program components, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure the effective operation of the Campagna Center’s Out-of-School Time (OST) Programs.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership and Enrichment Programming

· Plans, conducts, and supervises effective youth programs that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and cultural needs of each child

· Coordinates with the Creative Arts Coordinator, School Principals, School Staff, Parents, other Site Directors, and TCC staff

· Ensures that routines are maintained to provide for the health and safety of each child

· Develops programming and curriculum that considers youth voice and provides for developmentally appropriate practices (e.g., implementing consistent, well-planned, and scheduled activities)

·Implements programmatic and administrative requirements for grant programs, including but not limited to the Child and Adult Care Food Program, State Child Care Subsidy, etc.

Supervision and Quality Assurance

Works as a team to ensure the high-level quality of care provided to all children

Operates the program in compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards

•Provides supervision, training, and evaluations for all staff assigned to the site

Maintains all required records for the site (e.g., attendance and subsidy reports, child files, accident/injury reports, medication records)

•Ensures there is adequate staff and management coverage for the program throughout each day

Youth, Family, and Community Engagement

Creates a program environment in which children will feel comfortable and secure

Ensures that parents receive all information concerning their children’s experiences

Attends scheduled PTA meetings at the school

Plans community events and parent involvement activities

Attends all scheduled and mandatory meetings and training events as well as special events and activities hosted by the Campagna Center

•Maintains a positive attitude toward work, co-workers, parents, and children, and always maintains a professional demeanor

Administrative/Other

•Participates in all activities planned for children, which will include, but not limited to, indoor/outdoor physical activity, field trips, preparing snacks, etc.

•Commutes between program sites to provide coverage as requested

•Makes reasonable accommodations to meet children’s individual needs, including, but not limited to changing diapers, assisting with toileting, cleaning up bodily fluids, etc.

•Obtains all necessary certifications including, but not limited to, CPR and First Aid, and Virginia Food Managers Certification, Medication Administration

•Performs additional duties as requested

Required Qualifications

All Site Directors will meet one of the following qualifications (as stated in Virginia Department of Child-care Licensing Standards) although Bachelors and Graduate degrees are preferred:

1. Six (6) months of experience in a school-age setting, Graduate Degree in Related field such as nursing, elementary education, recreation, etc., with at least six (6) credit hours in child and youth development (3) and other areas related to SAC programming (3)

2. One (1) year of experience in a school-age setting, Bachelor’s Degree in a child-related field such as nursing, elementary education, recreation, etc. with at least six (6) credit hours in child and youth development (3) and other areas related to SAC programming (3)

3. One (1) year of programmatic experience and forty-eight (48) semester hours or 72 quarter hours of college credit from a college or university of which 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours are in child-related subjects

4. Two (2) years of experience in a school-age setting with one (1) year in a staff supervisory capacity and one of the following: AA Degree or CDA

Emotional maturity and flexibility

Well-organized, thorough, and highly reliable/dependable

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to remain calm and maintain a high-level of professionalism, and always employ strong personal and work ethics/integrity

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and people of various cultures and background

•Good mediation skills

•Must be accessible during program hours

•Ability to successfully pass and maintain criminal background history checks and Child Protective Services Registry

•Ability to complete various annual trainings required in a satisfactory manner

•Valid Driver’s License; Satisfactory initial driving record review and ongoing compliance.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical demands

·While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be mobile in various school building facilities, indoor and outdoor excursion settings, and office environments

· Must be able to run, walk, bend, reach, sit on the floor and push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 pounds

Work environment

·Recreational environment with exposure to a commensurate noise level.

Pay: $34.53 per hour
