Full Job Description

Job Overview

Mouthful dc is seeking a dependable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen by ensuring all dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized.

The ideal candidate is reliable, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Previous kitchen or dishwashing experience is preferred but not required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to support the kitchen team during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing equipment.
Ensure all kitchen items are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing area at all times.
Remove trash, recycling, and food waste from the kitchen and dining areas.
Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and work areas throughout each shift.
Restock clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies for cooks and service staff.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing deliveries as needed.
Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation and other assigned duties when necessary.
Inspect dishes and equipment for cleanliness before returning them to service.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies and procedures.
Assist with opening and closing kitchen cleaning responsibilities.
Work efficiently to ensure the kitchen maintains a continuous flow of clean equipment during service.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to support smooth daily operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Chef.

Experience & Qualifications

Previous experience as a Dishwasher, Kitchen Utility Worker, or in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cleaning procedures is a plus.
Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning tools.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and time management skills.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Willingness to assist with general kitchen support duties as needed.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
