Residential Remodeling & Insurance Estimator (Xactimate)

American Remodeling Corp.

Location: Jessup, Maryland

Schedule: In-office, 35–40 hours per week

Compensation: Salary plus commission

Position Overview

American Remodeling Corporation is seeking an experienced estimator with advanced, hands-on proficiency in Xactimate.

This person will prepare accurate and timely estimates for residential remodeling, repair, and insurance-related projects using measurements, photographs, project notes, and scope information provided by our sales representatives.

The estimator will work closely with the sales team to clarify project details and ensure each estimate accurately reflects the complete scope of work. This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must be able to independently prepare complete Xactimate estimates from the start.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed retail and insurance-related estimates in Xactimate
Review measurements, photographs, notes, and project information provided by sales representatives
Collaborate with the sales team to confirm scope accuracy and resolve missing or unclear information
Review insurance carrier estimates and prepare supplements for missing or additional work
Include all necessary labor, materials, quantities, project logistics, and trade sequencing
Revise estimates as project details or scopes change
Manage multiple estimates and complete them within expected turnaround times
Maintain accurate and organized estimating records

Requirements

Advanced proficiency and substantial hands-on experience with Xactimate
Ability to independently prepare complete estimates without software training
Previous estimating experience in residential construction, remodeling, restoration, or insurance repair
Experience reviewing insurance estimates and preparing supplement
Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, labor, and project logistics
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Availability to work in our Jessup office 35–40 hours per week

Relevant Trade Experience

Experience estimating a range of residential projects is strongly valued. Familiarity with trades such as roofing, siding, gutters, windows, doors, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, flooring, additions, and decking will be beneficial in this role.CompensationThis position offers a base salary plus commission. Compensation will be based on Xactimate proficiency, estimating experience, and overall construction knowledge.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
