Position Title: Director of Nursing
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15207
Duration: 3+ months

Work Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday (daylight shift), with rotational weekend coverage as needed. Must be available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and 24/7 on-call responsibilities when required.

Position Summary:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all Nursing Department operations within a long-term care facility. Reporting to the Kane Community Center Administrator, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Professional Nursing Law. The Director of Nursing provides strategic leadership for nursing staff, promotes quality improvement initiatives, and supports a safe, resident-centered care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Direct, organize, and oversee all Nursing Department operations.
Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and develop nursing staff.
Lead recruitment, hiring, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
Conduct regular resident rounds and provide direct nursing care when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local long-term care regulations.
Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Collaborate with physicians, consultants, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs.
Prepare for regulatory surveys and inspections and implement corrective action plans.
Investigate resident incidents, accidents, and complaints to ensure resident safety and quality care.
Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate clinical coverage.
Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in emergency preparedness planning and resident evacuation activities.
Serve as the Facility Administrator in the Administrator's absence when designated.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Registered Nursing Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory nursing experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
Current CPR certification.
Ability to work beyond standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Effective decision-making in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
