Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Recovery Support Specialist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support to individuals navigating recovery from mental health challenges and substance use disorders. Your energy, empathy, and expertise will empower clients to achieve their recovery goals, foster resilience, and build healthier lives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through direct client engagement, crisis intervention, and collaborative care.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Recovery Support Specialist provides client support within an organized intensive outpatient treatment facility with the ongoing support of a licensed clinician and/or medical director. Responsible for the communication of client responses/behavior with the clinical team and participation in individual and group supervision as required.

Responsibilities

Meets with new clients to complete Case Management assessments
Provides follow-up case management services, as needed
Participates in weekly clinical team meetings and case reviews
Attends therapy groups as client support while assisting clinicians as needed.
Provides milieu management support, especially as clients transition between groups, breaks, or during lunch
Ensures completion of client Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) and clinical assessments, readministers assessments every 3 weeks
Utilizing the organization’s electronic health record (EHR), documenting all services provided (e.g. case management) and collateral contacts in a timely manner
Seeks support from clinical staff when encountering situations calling for crisis intervention and management if unable to address client’s presenting needs.
Notifies primary therapist or Clinical Director immediately if there are safety concerns regarding a client.
Monthly communication and tracking of alumni progress post discharge
Planning and leading bi monthly Alumni events
Participates in weekly administrative and clinical supervision
Communicates with the treatment team members regarding client responses/behaviors and any concerning issues that arise in group sessions, case management sessions, or elsewhere
Participates in other Verve program and recovery community activities
Follows emergency protocols and procedures (including phone call protocol, etc.)
Conducts UA drug screen collection as directed, following appropriate Waived Testing procedures.

Qualifications

1+ years experience working in intensive outpatient or residential treatment setting (preferred)
Familiarity with the 12-step model, SMART recovery, and Recovery Dharma (preferred)
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of sobriety if identifying as being in recovery (desirable)

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
