Part-Time Site Coordinator
After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is one of the leading national after-school program providers in the country. Our comprehensive school-based programs combine activities and learning to help build the knowledge and skills children need to succeed, both in school and in life.
We are looking for Site Coordinators for our after-school programs in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will be committed to the overall management and daily operations of a school-based after-school program. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, engaging programming in a safe and supportive environment for students.
The Site Coordinator supervises program staff and volunteers, coordinates schedules and activities, and maintains strong communication with school administration, families, and community partners. They oversee student engagement and behavior, manage program logistics, and ensure accurate tracking of attendance, data, and required reports.
This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with experience working with youth and a commitment to fostering positive youth development.
Position: Site Coordinator
Reports to: Program Team Leadership as assigned. The Program Team Leadership includes the Program and Systems Director, the Program Manager, and the Mentor Coordinator.
Locations: We serve different DCPS elementary/middle schools across NE, SW, and SE. Currently, we have programs at the following sites:

- Langley Elementary School, 101 T ST NE, Washington, D.C. 20002
- Jefferson Middle School Academy, 801 7th St SW, Washington, DC 20024.
- Johnson Middle School, 1400 Bruce Pl SE, Washington, DC 20020
- Stuart Hobson Middle School, 410 E Street NE, Washington, DC 20002
- McKinley Middle School, 151 T Street NE, Washington, DC 20002
- Browne Middle School, 850 26th St NE, Washington, DC 20002
Work Hours: This is a part-time position with a schedule of five days a week from 12:30pm -6:00pm. The tour of duty is typically between 25 and 28 hours per week.
Compensation: $20-25/hour, commensurate to experience in youth development/teaching.

Responsibilities
The Site Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the after-school program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging activities in a safe and supportive environment. They supervise staff, coordinate schedules and logistics, monitor student behavior, and maintain clear communication with school personnel, families, and program leadership while ensuring accurate reporting and program compliance.

Communication & Stakeholder Relations:
- Maintain consistent communication with program staff, school administration, parents, and community stakeholders
- Respond to parent and student inquiries regarding programming, attendance, and registration
- Check and respond to email communications daily to stay informed and aligned
- Daily check and respond to emails for ASAS Leadership
- Implement assigned activities such as student survey administration, field trip waiver distribution/collection, participation in required school activities, and program quality observations
- Attend professional development activities, weekly site meetings, and weekly Leadership meetings
Youth and Staff Supervision:
- Ensure students are supervised at all times. Full engagement with students is expected always
- Arrive at work on time and ready to organize the day
- Supervise staff on site, including AmeriCorps members, club teachers, program partners/contractors, and volunteers
- Conduct regular staff meetings to support communication and team alignment
- Observe staff performance through classroom visits and provide feedback, coaching, and support
- Collaborate with Program Manager, Mentor Coordinator, and Program Director on staff oversight and development
- Participate in and support professional development activities
- Follow the ASAS code of student conduct when disciplining students. Training is provided
- Visits classrooms on a daily basis. Reviews performance of teachers and program leaders and provides suggestions, demonstrations, and assistance for improvement, as needed
Program Operations & Oversight:
- Maintain consistent on-site presence Monday through Friday from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM
- Provide day-to-day operational oversight of after-school programming
- Coordinate and monitor program activities to ensure high-quality implementation
- Oversee end-of-year program closeout activities
- Ensure all required reports are completed and submitted on time
- Supervise the development of lesson plans by the Program Leaders
- Assist in planning and organizing field trips to enrich the student program experience
- Develop schedules that incorporate student interests, required curricula and timeframes, and ensure their accurate implementation
- Acquire and coordinate program equipment and materials and supplies
- Ensure school facilities are clean at the end of the program day
- Organize regular meetings with the school administrators/point of contact for after-school
Facilitation:
- Organize and lead student recruitment and retention initiatives
- Create and maintain an inviting, safe and orderly environment, including ensuring cleanliness of classrooms, auditorium, and other program areas
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with school staff, partners, students and parents
- Teach your sessions with enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and passion
- Monitor student behavior and ensure a safe, respectful program environment
- Implement appropriate and consistent disciplinary measures when needed
- Plan the end-of-year closing of the program activities
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate attendance data and reports on activities as assigned
- Maintain accurate daily input of Cityspan for attendance
- Maintain and send material requests and evaluations data as requested to the Program Leadership according to established procedures and timelines
- Submit required data on time and accurately
- Keep an accurate timesheet log and send regularly on Fridays to Program Leadership
- Complete all required reports and submit them by the due date
Experience and Education:
The successful candidate will have at least two years or more of non-profit or related youth development program and/or administrative experience. The individual will have a familiarity with and passion for working with marginalized youth. An undergraduate or associate’s degree is highly desired; BA in education, social or human services, child development, or related field is desirable.

- At least two years or more of non-profit or related youth development programming and/or administrative experience is required, preferably in middle schools.
- Familiarity with youth development principles and middle-school-aged youth is desirable
- Knowledge of lesson planning and/or curriculum development is preferred
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with school district staff, program staff, parents, and community leaders is a must
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others as well as respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in an emergency is a must
- Familiarity and experience with diverse populations and cultural competencies are strongly desired
- Excellent organizational skills are a must
- Must clear DCPS required criminal history background check, which includes FBI fingerprinting, sex offender registry check, TB screening and eventually TB test, and drug/alcohol test.
- Must have reliable transportation to report to the assigned site on time every day

Start Date: at the earliest, August 15, 2026, until June 30, 2027, at the latest, with mandatory August training and other professional development throughout the year. August training is a condition of work.
