Full Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist

Type: Mid-size construction
Location: Kent, WA
Salary: $58,000-$67,000 per year ($28-$32/hour) DOE
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support our construction finance team in Kent, WA. This role is responsible for full-cycle AP and ensures invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time in accordance with company policies and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

· Process a high volume of invoices accurately and on time

· Handle three-way matching (invoice, PO, and receipt)

· Maintain vendor accounts and respond to inquiries

· Prepare and run weekly payments (checks, ACH, and wires)

· Reconcile vendor statements and help resolve discrepancies

· Keep AP records accurate, organized, and easy to find

· Support month-end close as needed

· Follow internal controls and accounting policies

· Assist Purchasing with any vendor questions

· Support the transition to paperless processes

Qualifications

· 3+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience

· Experience with Sage accounting software (preferred)

· Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

· Comfortable managing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Clear communication and a practical, solutions-focused approach

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)

· High-volume AP processing experience (preferred)
