Full Job Description

Latitude is seeking an experienced Washington-barred family law attorney to work with a well-established and respected law firm in Washington State on a completely remote basis. The law firm specializes in Family and Divorce, Wills and Estates, Criminal Law, Guardianship, Asset Protection Planning and Elder Law. The best candidate will be an enthusiastic professional with a strong background in family law and/or estate planning. This is a remote position (with preference for attorneys living in Washington state).

Requirements for the Washington-Barred Family Law Attorney (Remote and Contract):

5+ years of experience working on family law and/or estate planning matters
Capable of working independently
Excellent communication, speaking, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law and in good standing in Washington state
Outstanding references

Responsibilities for the Washington-Barred Family Law Attorney (Remote and Contract):

Represent clients in the office and in court and during legal proceedings, ensuring their rights and interests are effectively protected.
Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies and provide sound legal advice.
Manage a caseload from initial consultation to resolution, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing legal arguments, making court appearances and negotiating settlements.
Must be able to conduct legal consultations and provide expert legal advice to clients, explaining legal options, potential outcomes, and strategies pertaining to their case.
Ensure all legal practices and personal and professional conduct adhere to state and federal regulations and ethical requirements and stay updated on changes in the law.
Maintain clear and regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and promptly addressing their concerns.

Position Details for the Washington-Barred Family Law Attorney (Remote and Contract):

Type of Role: Contract
Schedule: Flexible (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Location: Fully Remote (preference for residing in Washington state)

Compensation

Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).

Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
