SUPERIOR COURT CERTIFIED COURT INTERPRETER
The Okanogan County Superior Court is now accepting applications for Superior Court Certified Spanish Court Interpreter. Starting salary range is $6,066-$7,372 per month depending on experience plus benefits including: Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement options, 13 paid holidays, sick and annual leave accruals.
Under general oversight of the Okanogan County Superior Court Administrator, performs and coordinates simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for limited English proficient persons during court proceedings, in all county courts (e.g., arraignment, motion, hearing, deposition, trial). Provides the following assistance with limited English proficient persons when not in court: Assist court staff with contacts outside the courtroom for meetings and customer service contacts; assists public defense attorneys with client contacts; translates court correspondence; maintains translated court forms; and performs other office support work. Errors in judgment could have a substantial impact on legal situations, financial matters, and public relations, as well as having a major impact on the person or persons whom they are interpreting for.

Minimum/Required Qualifications (see job description for complete list): Requires knowledge of the field of assignment sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of responsibility as illustrated by examples in the above job description and the following knowledge, skills and abilities; Must have Washington State Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) Interpreter certification. Must maintain good standing on the State Roster for Court Interpreters. 21 years of age or older with legal right to live and work in the U.S. Ability successfully complete any conditional employment requirements and pre-employment background checks and testing.
