About Us:
Northern Living Center is a warm, family-oriented residential assisted living home in Wasilla, Alaska. Our home is a small community with just 12 beds, allowing us to provide individualized and compassionate care to each of our residents. We focus on creating a close-knit environment where residents feel at home and valued. We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated caregivers to join our team and help us continue to deliver exceptional care to our residents.

Position Summary:
As a Caregiver at Northern Living Center, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to our residents. You will assist with daily living activities, ensure residents' physical and emotional well-being, and create a positive and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for caring for the elderly, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping others in a small, intimate setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and eating.
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, ensuring their dignity and respect.
Monitor residents’ health status, including vital signs, and report changes to management or nursing staff.
Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort.
Administer medications as prescribed and according to facility protocols.
Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance.
Ensure cleanliness and comfort of residents’ rooms.
Communicate effectively with team members, families, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal care.
Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents.
Assist with recreational activities and social events for residents to promote engagement and quality of life.
Follow all facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in caregiving, preferably in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
Compassionate, patient, and caring attitude towards elderly individuals.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control protocols, and safe caregiving practices.
Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or other relevant certifications (preferred but not required).
Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
