Full Job Description

Senior CNC Toolmaker – Setup & Operation

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Toolmaker to set up and operate vertical 3-axis Fanuc mills, ensuring precision parts are produced to company and customer standards. The role requires strong blueprint reading, part setup, and in-process inspection skills, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and collaboration across departments.

Additionally seeking a skilled Mazak Operator/Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in operating a Mazak Integrex 200 (Matrix Control) as well as other CNC machines and possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Tool making and prototype machining are a plus

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Machining & Setup

Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and setup sheets to determine machining requirements.
Set up vertical 3-axis Fanuc milling machines, including workholding, cutting tools, and tool height offsets.
Set up and Operate 5axis Horizontal Mazak Integrex
Perform part pickup and tramming using edgefinders and indicators.
Execute CNC programs following setup documentation and first-piece SOPs.
Manipulate parts with shims/clamps or make minor adjustments to bring workpieces into specification.

Quality & Inspection

Verify part conformance using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
Ensure adherence to customer specifications and internal quality standards.
Record time and sign off on routers/travelers for production traceability.
Maintain clean, burr-free, and inspection-ready parts before passing them to the next operation.

Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with management and other departments to ensure workflow efficiency.
Train and mentor less experienced team members; support cross-training during downtime.
Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Maintenance & Safety

Perform daily CNC machine cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks.
Follow company operational, safety, and housekeeping policies at all times.

Schedule & Compensation

Regular Hours: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Expected Hours: 40–45 per week; Saturday mornings as needed
Pay Range: $32.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience)
Supplemental Pay: Overtime pay

The Ideal Candidate

Background in Tool & Die or Moldmaking (programming experience is a plus, not required).
Skilled in CNC setup, troubleshooting, and inspection processes.
Strong knowledge of GD&T, shop math, and basic trigonometry.
Familiar with CAD viewing/measurement software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks eDrawings, etc.).
Able to problem solve and adjust processes during machining.
Training-oriented, willing to mentor others and cross-train.
High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
