Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant and Grant Administrator to join our team. You will oversee the financial management and administrative processes related to finances, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Your expertise will support the effective allocation of resources, accurate financial reporting, and seamless grant administration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects within a mission-driven organization, fostering growth and excellence in nonprofit accounting practices.

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of accounting, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring adherence to grant-specific guidelines.
Oversee general ledger activities using QuickBooks, ensuring accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity.
Prepare detailed financial statements and reports that interpret data for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
Conduct the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
Monitor and manage budgets for multiple grants, including forecasting cash flows, analyzing variances, and supporting audit processes with documentation.
Support regulatory reporting obligations by preparing schedules for audits when required.
Prepare monthly reporting and invoicing to grantors as required.
Prepare bi-monthly payroll. Prepare tax deposits and quarterly payroll tax returns.

Experience

Experience in nonprofit accounting is a plus.
Proven expertise in financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budget management, forecasting, and financial report writing.
Familiarity with QuickBooks; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel data analysis
Accounting Degree is required as well as experience with Quickbooks and Excel.
