Full Job Description

Enviros is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Journeyman Electrician - Commissioning Agent to lead and execute electrical and commissioning projects from award through final acceptance. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional communication and project coordination skills to ensure successful project delivery across a wide range of facility types.

This is a remote/hybrid opportunity requiring 70% travel.

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for executing multiple electrical & commissioning projects. They will utilize commissioning software programs and professional judgment to create pre-functional and functional checklists, conduct site assessments, and attend project construction team meetings. In this role, you will interface with various team members, particularly the client, architect, and electrical contractor/engineer, using your strong communication skills. You will also be responsible for creating functional performance test procedures for all types of electrical equipment installed in the hospital, central utility, and warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute multiple commissioning projects from award through acceptance.
Utilizing commissioning software programs and professional judgment to create pre-functional and functional checklists, conduct site assessments, and attend project construction team meetings.
Develop functional performance test procedures for MEP systems, including building automation, HVAC, heating, hot water, lighting, steam, renewable energy systems, controls, telecommunications, lightning protection, fire protection, and other systems.
Ensure technical quality and accuracy, assisting the project manager with managerial aspects of commissioning projects.
Manage electrical field inspections, lead commissioning meetings, oversee equipment startups and test and balance activities, as well as field functional performance testing to verify and tune systems for optimum performance.
Document commissioning procedures, assumptions, and results.
Prepare clear and concise deliverables, including technical reports, Cx reports, meeting minutes, system manuals, and assessments.
Communicate progress professionally with the commissioning team, client, architect, and contractor.
Provide recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, testing requirements, and operations and maintenance.
Take photos of equipment contents and identify any NEC code violations and design specifications.
Fully inspect panel contents and check the integrity of all components.
Collect & record data for future reports.
Inspect, identify & record feeder size, breaker settings and all necessary measurements.
Ensure timely completion of projects, time, and expenses in Unanet.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Facility asset tagging.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred), or relevant trade experience
Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience as a Master Electrician
Commissioning experience (preferred)
Project management experience (preferred)
Cx accreditation (preferred)
OSHA 30 accreditation (preferred)

Core Skills & Expertise

Comfortable working in live energized panels
Knowledgeable in NEC Codebook
Ability to remove panel covers and dead fronts of medium voltage switchgears, panels, and transformers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and client relationship management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Successful track record of project execution
Ability to climb ladders/stairs and carry objects up to 50 pounds

Additional Details

Willingness to travel up to 70%
Physically capable of fieldwork, including climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs
Working knowledge of the energy efficiency requirements to include the Title 24 requirements, LEED Requirements and ANSI 90.1
Engineering management skills for resource allocation, workflow, work planning, fee estimating and independent QA/QC.
