Full Job Description

Location: UCHealth Admin Lowry, Denver, CO

Department: CHD Accounting

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $63.32 - $101.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Supports the Metro Region Controller and CFO in overseeing all accounting operations across the Denver Metro region. Responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting; managing the monthly close process; supervising an accounting Manager and Staff; and serving as a key partner to facility-level finance leaders.

Responsibilities:

Leads regional financial close, reporting, reconciliations, intercompany activity, and healthcare-specific revenue accounting across multiple entities.
Maintains strong internal controls, ensures compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and healthcare reporting requirements, and supports audit readiness.
Manages, mentors, and develops accounting staff while fostering accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Partners with regional and facility finance leaders on accounting guidance, operational support, budgeting/forecasting, system optimization, and process improvement.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement review, and intercompany transactions.
Ensures proper healthcare revenue accounting and revenue recognition, including patient service revenue, contractual allowances, and related estimates.
Serves as a key liaison for internal and external audits, coordinating audit schedules, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Provides technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, capital projects, leases, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
Supports regional budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning efforts in collaboration with facility finance leaders.
Identifies and implements process improvements, system enhancements, and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and standardization across the region.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5 years of related experience.
