Position Mission: Responsible for ensuring that all products meet established standards of excellence and regulatory requirements. This role oversees quality control processes, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and fosters a culture of quality throughout the organization. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Quality Manager identifies and resolves quality issues, implements corrective actions, and ensures compliance with industry standards. Their mission is to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce defects, and maintain the highest levels of product integrity in metal manufacturing.
Compensation: Salaried, Exempt $70,000.00 - $112,500.00 annually
- Define and prioritize corporate quality goals, manage projects, and lead the quality team to meet objectives and customer deadlines.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals, provide feedback, and implement training plans for skill advancement.
- Develop and execute quality initiatives, capital plans, and departmental projects to enhance business effectiveness.
- Collaborate with HR to recruit, hire, and retain top-quality personnel.
- Mentor and coach quality team members, fostering leadership and professional growth.
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve quality and operational issues.
- Oversee customer satisfaction metrics, quality system development, and product launch quality.
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 standards, manage audits, corrective actions, and employee education on quality and environmental standards.
- Maintain and update corporate ISO procedures, ensuring document accuracy and effectiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, monitor product quality trends, and drive corrective actions.
- Survey customers to assess satisfaction and communicate findings to management.
- Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
- Oversee supplier development and qualifications of new suppliers.
- Ensure adherence to APQP processes and timely PPAP submissions to achieve zero defects.
- Champion problem-solving initiatives with cross-functional teams to reduce defects and improve quality.
- Interface with customers to address concerns and implement corrective actions.
- Establish performance goals, track key metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, ISO, and safety regulations.
- Promote company values and act as a professional role model.
Requirements / Qualifications Overview:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or equivalent experience preferred (5+ years in a similar role).
- Minimum of 3 years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing processes, and statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a plus
