Athea Laboratories, a leader in specialty chemical product manufacturing, is seeking a QA/QC Lab Technician. This position is located at the Athea-Cornell: 1900 W. Cornell St. facility with some possible travel to additional company sites in Milwaukee county.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a QA/QC Laboratory Technician to perform chemical and physical laboratory tests, providing support to R&D, Production, and external partners. The role involves conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids and liquids in work-in-progress and final products.
Qualifications:

Two-year associate degree/certificate in a scientific field, ideally chemistry, or equivalent experience.

2–5 years in a laboratory within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in basic computer programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).

Strong math skills, including unit conversions and multi-step calculations.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.

A commitment to accuracy and quality in their work.

A sense of urgency and responsibility in meeting deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities:

Calibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
-
Analyze finished goods and raw materials.
-
Prepare chemical reagents.
-
Accurately input chemical and test results into a computer system.

Create and prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for customers.

Verify and document specialty outbound products

Review and audit production activities such as filling and mixing operations.

Perform document checks, measurements, and weight verifications during line reviews and audits to ensure adherence to specifications.

Manage retained samples of finished products and raw materials.

Write simple observation-based reports.

Apply knowledge of long-term stability standards (preferred but not required).

Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Assist with other laboratory tasks as assigned.
