Full Job Description

Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Caregiver, where your dedication and empathy will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and specialized care. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide personalized assistance in various settings, including assisted living facilities, group homes, and in-home care environments. As a Caregiver, you will be at the forefront of promoting independence, safety, and well-being for those you serve, ensuring they receive respectful and attentive care every day. Your energy and commitment will help create a nurturing environment where clients feel valued and supported.

Duties

Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON>
Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living
Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and ensuring hygiene standards are met
Document care activities meticulously in accordance with healthcare protocols and assist in updating personalized care plans

Qualifications

Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing home settings or long-term care environments is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and HIPAA compliance
Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional qualifications like hospice care or working with people with disabilities are advantageous
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining patient safety
Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities is desirable
Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate attitude towards residents’ <PERSON> needs
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the work setting
