Job Summary
We are seeking applicants for a Fall Intern at NTC, working at NTC and working with a local legal aid law firm, Wisconsin Judicare Inc.
Monitoring interns work performance and task assignments will be by:

Wisconsin Judicare Inc. Supervisor, Attorney Kristin Slonski
Work will be completed in a hybrid format. The work will primarily be remote, but with select attendance in-person.
Online trainings and most tasks may be done remotely.
Application Information
While there may not be an immediate need for a student employee in every area, Northcentral Technical College (NTC) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need. Upon successful submission of your application, you will be considered for future part-time student employee opportunities and your application will be on file as a potential candidate who could possibly fill a position if or when the need arises.
This position will be paid an hourly rate of $15.00.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Interns will receive mentoring and be expected to perform the following duties during their internship, all under the supervision of an attorney.
Paralegal Interns typically do the following:
Participate in the organizing and administering of NTC legal workshops through the Law for Learners Program and with Judicare;
Contact participants, lawyers, and clients to schedule interviews and meetings;
Prepare Questionnaires and interview documents;
Work with participants and clients in the accurate completion of their questionnaires;
Initiate and circulate required case opening documents for review and signatures;
Ensure all information is correctly entered into the electronic case management system, as appropriate;
Schedule events for the participants;
Schedule events for the attorneys they support;
Draft legal documents, such as Estate Planning documents, Advance Directives, and Wills;
Paralegals help lawyers prepare for client meetings, hearings, and clinics.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Applicants must be currently enrolled in at least six credits with a Wisconsin Technical College System Legal Studies/Paralegal Program who can devote 10 hours per week toward the internship.
Applicants must be willing to provide high quality service to our low-income and diverse clients, including persons with a disability, living in poverty, or persons with a minority status or affiliation
Please note that students are not permitted to work in Federal Work-Study positions during scheduled class times.
Interns are expected to have the ability to work online with reliable access to a computer and internet. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
