Full Job Description

About us

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support quality and food safety operations in our spice manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for monitoring production processes, performing inspections and testing, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods

Perform sensory, physical, and basic analytical testing (e.g., color, odor, foreign material checks)

Collect, record, and maintain accurate quality and production data

Verify adherence to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and food safety standards

Assist with environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and allergen controls

Identify and report quality deviations or non-conformances

Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections

Work closely with production teams to address quality issues and corrective actions

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the QA lab and work areas

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Food Science or related field preferred

1–3 years of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing (spice or dry goods experience a plus)

Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations (FDA/USDA)

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (standing, lifting, exposure to spices/dust)

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, data entry systems)

Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends if required

Preferred Skills

Experience with spice blending, seasoning, or dry food processing

Familiarity with microbiological testing and environmental swabbing

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
