Schedule: 9:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday

Location: 139A Boston Post Road, Wayland, MA

· Occasional flexibility to support other MetroWest YMCA School’s Out locations (Ashland, Framingham, Hopkinton, Natick, and Wayland) may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The School's Out Assistant Site Director (ASD) works alongside the Site Director to oversee the daily operations of a licensed School's Out program. This leadership position helps ensure high-quality programming, provides coaching and supervision to staff, builds collaborative relationships with children, families, and school partners, and maintains compliance with YMCA policies and Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations.

This position also includes daily transportation responsibilities using an 8-passenger YMCA 7-D vehicle. Candidates who do not currently possess a Massachusetts 7-D Certificate must be willing to obtain certification within three months of employment.

This is a year-round position. During the summer months, employees transition into a full-time role within MetroWest YMCA summer youth programs. Specific summer assignments are determined each season based on program needs, enrollment, staffing, operational priorities, and the employee's experience and qualifications. Summer responsibilities may include direct child supervision, program support, transportation, administrative duties, or other operational responsibilities that support the success of YMCA summer programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program Leadership

· Assist with the daily operation of a licensed School's Out program.

· Help ensure a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for all children.

· Support implementation of YMCA curriculum and program standards.

· Assume responsibility for program operations when the Site Director is unavailable.

Staff Leadership

· Coach, mentor, and support program staff.

· Model positive leadership and relationship-building.

· Participate in staff meetings and required professional development.

Family & Community Engagement

· Build positive relationships with children, families, school personnel, and community partners.

· Communicate regularly with families regarding program participation and child needs.

· Assist with Family Advisory Council meetings, special events, and YMCA fundraising activities.

Program Administration

· Maintain accurate attendance, child records, and required documentation.

· Contact families regarding student absences.

· Ensure compliance with:

o Massachusetts EEC licensing regulations

o YMCA policies and procedures

o CACFP requirements

o Praesidium child abuse prevention standards

Transportation

· Safely transport up to eight students between school and the program using a YMCA 7-D vehicle.

· Maintain all required 7-D certifications and safe driving standards.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

· Must be at least 21 years old.

· Valid Class A, B, C, or D Massachusetts driver's license held continuously for at least three years.

· Ability to obtain a Massachusetts 7-D Certificate within three months of hire.

· Minimum one year of experience working with elementary-aged children in a licensed out-of-school time or summer camp program.

· Ability to meet all MetroWest YMCA hiring requirements, including EEC background check requirements.

Preferred

· Bachelor’s degree in education, Child Development, Recreation, Human Services, or a related field.

· Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

· Current Massachusetts 7-D Certificate.

· Experience working with children with diverse learning or behavioral needs.

ABUSE RISK MANAGEMENT:

Employees who directly supervise youth will:

· Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.

· Attend required abuse risk management training.

· Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.

· Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.

· Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.

· Follow employee and volunteer screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse

risk.

· Provide employees and volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk.

· Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth.

· Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk.

· Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization’s progressive disciplinary

procedures.

· Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.

· Follow mandated reporting requirements.

· Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect their youth from

abuse.

· Report essential abuse risk management information to the board of directors.

Supervisors and administrators will:

· Follow employee and volunteer screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse.

· Provide employees and volunteers with ongoing supervision and training related to abuse risk.

· Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with youth.

· Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk.

· Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization’s progressive disciplinary procedures.

· Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.

· Follow mandated reporting requirements.

· Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect their youth from abuse.

· Report essential abuse risk management information to the board of directors.
